This is a certification program recognizing businesses that reach high standards in environmental protection. The completely free and voluntary program is designed to prevent and minimize solid waste, air and water pollution. (In process).
Master Recycling Program
The Master Recycler training provides instruction in topics such as waste prevention, recycling processes, alternatives to hazardous household products, composting and deconstruction and green building. Classes are taught by professionals from the public and private sector who are working on innovative solutions to environmental challenges. (In process).
LEED
LEED or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is an internationally-recognized green building certification system. Developed by the US Green Building in March 2000, LEED provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. This offers a series of peer-reviewed certification programs linking land management practices with the protection of agricultural and urban watersheds. (In process).
